Eye lens shielding device that efficiently attenuates electron beams during radiotherapy while maintaining high-quality CT imaging and patient comfort.
Lens-OK is a protective shielding device designed to protect the crystalline lens during radiotherapy. The tungsten shield efficiently attenuates electron beams, reducing lens dose to approximately 0.8–0.9% at 6 MeV and 0.0% at 9 MeV. An eye-fitting structure ensures precise contact with the eye, making it applicable for periocular treatments including proton therapy.
A transparent silicone cover allows clinical staff to visually confirm the patient's eye condition during treatment. The silicone material is of sufficient thickness to reduce hot-spot dose from back-scattering. The replaceable silicone cover design supports easy hygiene management and long-term reuse.
A dedicated CT device is supplied to acquire artifact-free, high-quality CT images for accurate treatment planning. A fixed positioning hole prevents the shield from shifting during treatment, ensuring a consistent and reproducible setup at every fraction.
- Daily lens shielding workflow for electron beam therapy (6 and 9 MeV) to minimize direct dose to the crystalline lens
- Transparent silicone cover enables real-time lens monitoring during treatment; replaceable structure supports long-term hygiene and reuse
- Dedicated CT device included for artifact-free high-quality CT imaging and accurate treatment planning
- Fixed positioning hole prevents shield movement during treatment, ensuring reproducible setup at every fraction
